Counseling

Lake Erie Preparatory provides dedicated emotional support services aimed at fostering three core pillars for student success:

  • Mental Wellness: Prioritizing the overall psychological health of the student body.
  • Resilience: Helping students navigate challenges and bounce back from setbacks.
  • Healthy Coping Skills: Equipping students with the tools to manage stress and emotions effectively.

Family Choice & Coordination

LEP values parental agency in a child’s care. Families have the flexibility to:

  • Select their own preferred provider outside of the school’s partner list.
  • Coordinate services directly with the school to ensure that outside counseling is integrated into the student’s school day or support plan as needed.

Family Resources

We connect families with helpful resources to support needs both at home and at school:

On-Site Health & Wellness
  • Mobile Dentistry: A dental clinic visits the campus twice per year to provide checkups and care, ensuring students stay healthy and ready to learn.
  • Health Literacy: Families receive frequent school newsletters that highlight local medical resources, seasonal health tips, and community services.
Essential Family Supports
  • Food Security: LEP partners with Community Link (located near campus) to provide families with consistent access to food bank services.
  • McKinney-Vento (MKV) Support: To support attendance and student dignity, the school provides on-site laundry facilities specifically for students and families qualifying under the McKinney-Vento Act.

Tutoring, Saturday School & Summer Programs

We offer targeted academic support to help every student stay on track and soar—during the school year and beyond:

Tiered Academic Supports (MTSS/RTI)

Lake Erie Preparatory uses a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) to ensure every student receives the level of help they need:

  • Tiered Interventions: Structured support (Tier 1, 2, and 3) tailored to individual student needs in reading and math.
  • School-Day Interventions: Dedicated “intervention blocks” for small-group instruction focused on closing specific skill gaps.
  • Progress Monitoring: Frequent assessment cycles and data reviews allow teachers to regroup students and adjust instruction in real time.
Targeted & Extended Learning
  • After-School Tutoring & Adopt-A-Falcon: An invite-only program for high-priority students. It combines structured tutoring with a mentorship model to drive measurable growth in core skills.
  • Specialized Summer Camps: Targeted academic camps designed around current student data trends.
  • Note: Camp themes vary annually; families receive registration details before the school year ends.
Family & Goal Alignment
  • Communication & Partnership: The school maintains a transparent loop with parents regarding intervention goals and student progress.
  • At-Home Strategies: Families are provided with specific tools and strategies to reinforce school-day learning at home.

Transportation

Safe, reliable yellow bus transportation is available for students residing in CMSD, East Cleveland, Cleveland Heights, and Euclid districts (for students living 1–3 miles from school).

By offering these services, Lake Erie Preparatory School makes it easier for families to focus on what matters most—helping their children learn, grow, and thrive.
